Who we are

Fiora is a bereavement planning tool that helps families organise what needs to happen after someone dies. This site is operated by Fiora ("we", "us", "our"). If you have questions about this policy, you can contact us at hello@myfiora.co.uk.

What we collect

When you create an account

If you sign up to use the Fiora planner, we collect:

• Your name and email address
• Plan data you create (tasks, notes, comments, attachments)
• Activity within your plan (e.g. completing a task, inviting a family member)

This data is stored securely in our database (hosted by Supabase) and is only accessible to you and anyone you invite to your plan.

When you browse the site

If you visit Fiora without signing up, we collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. This includes:

• Pages you visit and how long you spend on them
• How you arrived at the site (e.g. search engine, direct link)
• Your general location (country/city level, not your address)
• Device type and browser

Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this data. You can opt out by adjusting your browser settings or using a browser extension to block analytics cookies.

How we use your data

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Fiora planner
• Let you invite family members to collaborate on a plan
• Understand how people use the site so we can improve it
• Respond to questions or feedback you send us

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who can see your data

Your plan data is private. It is only visible to:

• You
• Anyone you invite to your plan

We use the following services to run Fiora:

• Supabase for authentication and database hosting
• Vercel for website hosting
• Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics

These providers process data on our behalf. They do not have independent rights to use your personal data.

Cookies

Fiora uses a small number of cookies:

• Authentication cookies to keep you signed in
• Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand site usage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Ask us to delete your data
• Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time

Data retention

We keep your account and plan data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Anonymous analytics data is retained by Google Analytics under their standard retention settings.

Children

Fiora is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally.
